iCardio Heart Rate Training App Reviews

40 add

In app but FAIL

i cant but Bluetooth 4 addon for my heart raté sensor

Great Application but...

Great app but a little expensive if you want to buy all its possibilities.

Works fine

+ good connexion with cardio belt + lots of options and different activities + GPS ok - dont hold portrait/landscape neither for iPhone nor for iPad

Good BUT

very esthetic app complete but not work with Apple Watch sport sensor cardio frequency ... sync app pair but not with other HOPPE to be able...

Fed Up

Crashes. There you are, exercising for an hour. Then someone calls or you check something. Back to the App an NOTHING. all gone. No paused exercise, no resume, just everything gone. Makes this App utterly useless.

Warning

Attention to all iPhone 4s users. Do not update. App cannot be used due to hidden accept button.

Fantastic app

Terrible.

One of two dongles failed after one week. App keeps on crashing. Subscription based - watch out! And after upgrading to iSpinner, it cleared the prefs. Cant remove default training profiles. Interface is sub-par.

iCardio

A great program with new features being added regularly and the best technical support of any of my apps. Kudos.

Watch out

ALWAYS CRASHES, BEWARE!

ICardio

Perfect

iCardio

Excellent, фантастически, I cant stay alone from it doing sports.

Useful!

Very useful app to use with polar h7

I would rate this app and the associated required hardware lower if I could. The battery drain is huge and the app does little more than track heart rate in predetermined zones. I really expected to have the ability to create custom workouts. I have free apps that can do that for Petes sake. The subscription price is a joke considering the lack of any connection to an associated service (without additional fee) and the poorly programmed interface. Im hoping for an app update with huge improvement soon. Im also reviewing my retailers return policy.

personal workouts dont work as expected

Sometimes tricky to get software to connect with hardware although Ive had luck unplugging and then restarting iCardio. Definetly needs better instructions. Very confusing going through different menus and trying to create a personal workout. As you are working out, iCardio can be set to alert you as you go to a new workout zone. For example 50-60% max bpm or 70-80% max bpm. What I want and I would expect others would want to is for the program to alert you when you go to a user created zone. But this doesnt seem to be working correctly. It just keeps alerting you at increments of 10% of your max bpm. Also, you are supposed to be able to set an alarm at a max bpm of your choosing but this has never worked for me. Still a very useful app to use as Im running. Hoping the developer can make it a little easier to use and works the bugs out.

I WONDER WHAT IS NEXT?

These guys really seem to know what they are doing! I started with their free app iBPM+ a year ago and at the time had to use their $150 hardware device called SMHEART LINK to enable heart rate monitoring on my iPhone. It was kind of big and had to be recharged and used a klunky ad hoc Wi-Fi connection to communicate with my iPhone. Nevertheless, it was really cool to have my iPhone track my cardio exercise. Now with their new $80 hardware device called Digifit Connect you simply insert it into the Dock connector (like Nike+ but better). You do have to pay for their new apps but they too are getting progressively better and now work on the iPad. I may just have to get an iPad now!

Needs mid-workout interuption protection

I have had my sensors for Irunner and Icardio for about 6 days. I have completed four workouts but, have only been able to record two. The first failed attempt I moved the heart sensor-it was slipping. The comunication with my iphone froze and needed to be restarted. All workout data lost! Next was a near one hour workout. It is not unreasonable that the ant+ antenna on the bottom of the phone would come loose. Well, it did but, when the ant+ antenna is removed from the iphone the app quits. All workout data is lost!. This app needs a memory for mid-workout interuptions. I should be able to re-start the app and carry on, I should be able dislodge the ant+ without a crash and complete loss of mid-workout data. The only data stored is completed workouts-which is fine but, so far, data from 2 of 4 workouts is not quite what I am looking for. Ill see what next week brings.

Love it ... you do get what you pay for!

I have lots of free apps and all I can say is you get what you pay for! I was a little reluctant to pay $19.99 for an app when I was used to 99 cents or $4.99 tops but not only did I pay $19.99 for a one year subscription to iCardio but I also spent over $100 to purchase the additional hardware that is required to turn my iPhone into a heart rate monitor. In order to make this work you need an accessory, Digifit Connect, that is a receiver like the Nike+ one that plugs into your iPod. The receiver talks to ANT+ sensors so I had to buy a Garmin heart rate monitor too. So needless to say, this was not cheap. All that said I am thrilled! I now have an awesome heart rate monitor application on my iPhone that calculates caloric burn based on my heart rate intensity not by pulling a number out of the air. For about the same price as those heart monitors you wear on your wrist I have one on my iPhone and with the tap of a single button I can upload my data to the internet. As they say, you do indeed get what you pay for!

I love the iCardio App with Digifit Connect!

I used iCardio with the Digifit Connect for the first time and loved it! It was easy to set up my profile and made me excited to know I can track my progress. For my workout, I put on my Garmin heart rate monitor, inserted the Digifit Connect into my iPod touch, selected iCardio, and began my workout. I did 40 minutes of cardio and thoroughly enjoyed watching my heart rate get tracked through the 5 heart rate zones. After the workout, I sent my workout summary via email from my iTouch to my husband. Next time I also want to upload my chart to Facebook so I can share my progress with my family and friends who are cheering me on. I highly recommend the iCardio app with Digifit Connect.

Great app. Feature rich. Wish there was a doc explaining the advanced configurations. Not sure why I have to pay for this when I just spent $80 on the digifit dongle
